1238282_10151530638740404_1237338094_n.jpgFor the angler, refuge waters teem with crappies, walleye, northern pike, sauger, bass, perch, sunfish and catfish. Unusual fish like the sturgeon, paddlefish and American eel, also reside here.

This area of the Upper Mississippi attracts a great deal of fisherman, including fishing contests.  We know everyone wants to be 'in the know' when it comes to the best fishing locations. Our fishing report below will help you with just that; we do our best to keep you updated and help you have a successful fishing experience on Pool 9!

Fishing Report from Captain Todd Lensing of Ferryville.  The river is frozen over in many areas however open water continues below the Genoa Lock & Dam and some boats are venturing out.  Ice fishing is good to great between Genoa and Lynxville.  De Soto Bay has been really good fishing but best at dawn and dusk.  Folks are catching  Northerns on tip-ups by Stoddard.  Cold Springs has not been as good as past seasons.  Anticipate hearing more from some of our guides very soon. fish_3__Todd.jpgfish2.jpg
